ST. VINCENT’S SCOUTS & GUIDES GROUP

Scouts & Guides, a worldwide movement emphasizes the code of living, education for life and it is fun with a purpose and open to all.
The mission of Scouting dawned in SVS on 3rd September 2002. The first set of Scouts and Guides appeared for the Governor’s award in 2005.
Today we have a troop of Scouts, a company of Guides, a pack of Cubs and flock of Bulbuls. The trained adult leaders, aptly leading the young minds in the right path with the motto “Be prepared” and the three fold promise “Duty to God”, “Duty to others” and “Duty to self”.
S. Dhivyashree, Rajyapuraskar Guide is the company leader and D. Keerthivasan, Rajyapuraskar Scout is the Troop Leader. The sixers of the Cub pack is Monishkumar J and for the Flock is Afrina A.
The admission for the Scout and Guide group aspirants commenced in the month of June and new aspirants were admitted to each unit.
The Rajapuraskar test camp for the year 2017 was organized by the South Chennai Bharat Scouts & Guides. 7 of our Scouts and 11 of our Guides attended the test camp held in the Govt. Hr. Sec. School, Arumbakkam.
Five of our President Scouts K.W. Joseph Rennie, S. Subash, Prince Evarist A.P.D., B.S.C Mounish and John Ashish Ryan J along with the Scout Master Mr. C. Selvakumar were honoured by the Dy. Commandant Cost Guard on the annual day 2017.
The success of this movement in SVS can’t be dreamt off without the valuable support of our Principal Rev.Fr. Johny Koyikkara C.M., Vice-principal, the teaching and non-teaching staff of SVS and the South Chennai District Officials.
